Ethan Adler via a cell phone cameraEthan Adler, Religious Leader of Congregation Beth David, was born in Israel, and moved to the United States with his family when he was a young teen-ager. After living in Pittsfield, Mass. for about 2 years, and attending a Hebrew School there, his family came to Providence, where Ethan attended and graduated from the Bureau of Jewish Education’s High School program.

A BA in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, was followed by a Masters in Education, with a concentration in Counseling. He also attended the Boston Hebrew Teachers’ College on a part-time basis. For many years, Ethan served as Education Director of the Bernard H Zizkind School of Judaism, in New Bedford, Mass. In addition, Ethan was on the faculty of several Hebrew Schools in the RI area, including the Bureau’s Midrasha High School.

In the past, Ethan also acted as Education Director of Temple Am David, in Warwick, RI and in 2003 returned as Education Director of the South County Hebrew School.

Ethan has also sought to meet the religious needs of Jewish scout at Camp Yawgoog, and has been leading Shabbat services at local Nursing Homes and Assisted Living establishments

Ethan is the CHAVER Coordinator for the Jewish Seniors Agency. You can read about some of his work for J.S.A. in their newsletter. He is the Eduational Director for Temple Torat Yisrael Hebrew School.

For over 20 years, Ethan has been serving as Spiritual Leader of Congregation Beth David, and has attended to the many life cycle events and needs of its families.

It is Ethan’s goal to help establish Beth David as a vibrant organization, meeting the varying needs of its members, and offering many avenues of Judaic expression thru prayer, Torah study and community involvement.

bulletEthan Adler is also the head of the South County Hebrew School. While the school is not officially a part of Congregation Beth David, many of the children of our congregants attend the South County Hebrew School and many school functions occur at Congregation Beth David.
